Only two more nights remain for the Riverbend Festival, but there are still more than two dozen acts lined up to entertain before fireworks close out this year’s music festival.
Headlining the party on the river tonight is country heartthrob Billy Currington. On Saturday, the Charlie Daniels Band will take the final bows on the Coca-Cola Stage before the fireworks begin.
Pins are available at the gate for $40. One-night wristbands are $24, with half-price discounts for senior citizens and military personnel. Kids 10 and younger get in free. To inquire about Star Seating (an extra $20 per night), call 756-2211.

A sequel to Charlie Daniels’ “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” was included on “Heroes,” a 1993 album by Mark O’Connor. In “The Devil Comes Back to Georgia,” the devil challenges Johnny to a rematch, giving Daniels and O’Connor the chance to trade licks on the fiddle. The song also features Travis Tritt as the devil, Marty Stuart as Johnny and Johnny Cash as the narrator. In the video (available on YouTube), O’Connor plays his part of the musical duel while on a skateboard.
