Signal Crest United Methodist Church is hosting its first-ever Easter Egg Xplosion Egg Hunt for the entire Signal Mountain community Sunday, March 20 from 2-4 p.m.
This is the first Easter at Signal Crest for Chrissy Gray, who recently became the church’s director of children’s ministry.
“We want to be a part of Signal Mountain and to be here for the kids in the community – not just our kids, but all the kids,” she said as to why church leaders wanted to hold the event.
Gray said the event will begin in the Crest Center with attendees playing games as a group. Church pastors will then lead a game of egg roulette in which players take turns randomly choosing eggs from a selection including both raw and hard-boiled varieties to break over the church leaders’ heads.
Next, children in grade five or lower will be dismissed to embark upon their search for the thousands of eggs to be hidden for the event.
“Our goal is 10,000 eggs,” said Gray.
Also to be on offer at the event are pony rides, face painting, a petting zoo, snow cones and cotton candy.
SCUMC is at 1005 Ridgeway Ave. and can be reached at 886-2330. For more information, visit signalcrestumc.org.
