The Junior League of Chattanooga will host a recruitment open house Thursday. Women interested in information may drop by the JLC house at 622 E. Fourth St. between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
The JLC offers provisional programs for new applicants in both the fall and spring, although applications are accepted anytime. Applicants for 2010-2011 must be 23 years of age before May 31, 2011, live in the Chattanooga area, and demonstrate the ability and interest to complete other volunteer requirements. Those requirements include yearly dues, meeting attendance and hands-on volunteer hours.
Since its inception in 1917, the league has donated close to $2 million and 425,000 volunteer hours to the Chattanooga community. It has more than 600 active and sustaining members.
