A fierce sense of optimism and action. That is how I describe the current mood of this community as we begin moving forward with Chattanooga 2.0, the community-wide call to action for education reform and improvement to help all students succeed and to prepare for the jobs of the future.

The challenge, of course, with any community-wide effort is that it can sometimes appear slow, even unwieldy at times, especially when there is no “silver bullet” solution to “fix” everything at once.

Instead, it’s more like creating an array of “silver buckshot” – requiring multiple strategies, resources and leaders from across all sectors working in concert to make a lasting difference.

That’s what we are setting off to do. And that’s why we need your help.
