Chattanooga police are looking for a man wanted in connection with a discount store robbery.
At about 5:10 p.m. on Thursday, the man walked into the Dollar General Store at 772 Mountain Creek Road. The clerk said the man purchased a candy bar and left, returning a few minutes later to purchase a second candy bar.
When the register drawer opened, the man reportedly told the clerk, “I’ll take all those 20s” and revealed a pistol he had tucked in his pants.
The clerk gave the man the money and the man fled on foot, dropping a gray hooded sweatshirt behind the building.
Police are seeking a 20- to 25-year-old white male who weighs about 140 pounds. He is clean shaven, with short brown hair and a large tattoo on his right calf.
At the time of the robbery, he was wearing dark sunglasses, khaki cargo shorts and a gray hoodie.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 698-3333. Tipsters could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
