Good morning, Chattanooga, and happy December!
Chattanooga artist Jamie Lynn Barks is heavily inspired by the world around her.
“I only paint places that I’ve been,” Barks says. “I want to capture what it feels like to be there at that moment in time.”
The year 2020 pushed her to work deeper in nature and in June 2021, she bought a plane ticket to Whittier, Alaska, outside of Anchorage.
Now for some recent stories:
DELI-CIOUS: McAlister’s is opening a new deli at Northgate Mall.
IN MEMORY OF: The city of Calhoun, Georgia, is honoring the memory of a deceased resident with an annual memorial concert this month.
STAYING PUT: While it appeared that head Vols coach Josh Heupel may have been on a few college teams’ potential Christmas lists, he assured fans and players that Knoxville and Tennessee are “home for us.”
