The Chattanooga Lookouts – and all Southern League baseball teams – are among those who will take a break for Memorial Day.
They did plenty of work with their bats Sunday night, though.
Using back-to-back four-run innings in the second and third to pull away early, the Lookouts beat the Montgomery Biscuits 9-2 in front of 4,527 at AT&T Field.
Chattanooga started the second with back-to-back doubles by Travis Harrison and Dan Gamache for a 1-0 lead. Gamache advanced to third on Tyler Brashears’ second wild pitch of the inning, and when Kevin Garcia hit a grounder to shortstop for the second out, Gamache came home.
A walk to Dan Rohfling and back-to-back singles by Ryan Walker and Nick Gordon loaded the bases for Levi Michael, whose single to right scored two to make it 4-0.
