Megan Rollins is feeling better physically. Michelle Davis is out of the “funk” she was in at times the past four weeks.
As the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team heads into the second half of its Southern Conference schedule, starting with today’s game at Furman (6-13, 4-6), the Lady Mocs (13-6, 8-2) need both forwards to be at their best.
Shanara Hollinquest is UTC’s anchor down low, and she leads the SoCon in scoring and rebounding. The better Rollins, Davis and Erin Helton are, however, the less smothered Hollinquest will be by opposing defenses. The Lady Mocs enter today’s game with a one-game lead in the SoCon standings.
“We all need to be playing well now,” Davis said.
The shoulder brace Rollins wore in games and practice since the beginning of the season is finally gone. Also gone is the ever-present protective boot the senior had to wear whenever she wasn’t playing or practicing.
