KENNESAW, Ga. – Angie Smith hit a short jumper with 2.7 seconds left in overtime tonight to lead Kennesaw State to a 65-63 overtime win over the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team.
The Lady Mocs (3-8) have lost four straight games, including the past two in overtime. UTC’s Whitney Hood scored a career-high 30 points, but the junior didn’t get a lot of offensive help.
UTC never trailed for the final 10:40 of a back-and-forth second half. The lead was 53-51 with 1.7 seconds left when KSU’s Tamasha Bolden hit a jumper to force overtime.
Freshman Destiny Bramblett had career highs of 7 points and seven rebounds off the bench for UTC, which is off until Dec. 30, when it travels to Belmont.
