SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) – Police in coastal Georgia say no serious injuries have been reported in an explosion involving a truck carrying volatile materials.

Savannah-Chatham Police spokesman Julian Miller says a truck hauling air conditioning equipment and tanks filled with acetylene, oxygen, carbon dioxide and refrigerant stopped abruptly and the explosion happened when unsecured tanks collided with each other.

Miller says a bystander with military training pulled the truck driver from the vehicle. The man suffered a small cut to his forearm.

Miller says the blast was traced to an open valve on one of the tanks in the back of the truck. Police say debris littered the street after the explosion and several nearby vehicles and a hotel were slightly damaged.
