Here’s a look at TSSAA Region 2-6A for the 2024 football season.

REGION 2-6A OUTLOOK

Team to beat: After a down year by its standards, Maryville has more than enough talent returning — led by sophomore quarterback Will Jones and senior running back Price Davis (who has committed to Davidson College) — to once again finish at the top of the league.

Watch out for: Bradley Central lost nearly every starter from last year’s historic run, but several key reserves who saw significant action return to take over No. 1 roles. More often than not, the Bears have had a knack under coach Damon Floyd for being one of the toughest teams to knock off.

Best game: When Cleveland travels to Bradley Central on Oct. 25, more than just county bragging rights will be on the line. Their rivalry showdown could determine who gets to host a first-round playoff game. The Bears are riding a nine-win streak in the series, but three of the past seven meetings have been decided by single digits.
