The Creative Arts Guild, 520 W. Waugh St. in Dalton, Ga., will host a St. Patrick’s Day celebration concert, featuring the Ceilidh Celtic Ensemble, on Friday, March 11.
The word Ceilidh (pronounced KAY-lee) is Gaelic, meaning a concert at which tales are told, songs are sung and music is played for dancing.
Formed in July 2004, the eclectic quintet is led by Dr. Sam Baltzer, professor of music at Georgia Highlands College.
Other members are his wife, Janet Baltzer, Matthew Fearing, Beth Blackburn and Jim Burdick. Music starts at 7 p.m. in the Jonas Performance Hall. Guests are welcome to bring Irish snacks or dinner to enjoy during the concert. Beverages will be available.
Tickets are $10; free for children in laps.
