The Chattanooga Football Club finishes the home portion of its regular season tonight at 7:30 in a key National Premier Soccer League match against Inter Nashville FC at Finley Stadium.
Chattanooga FC will travel to face the Georgia Revolution on Friday and head to Silverbacks Park in Atlanta on Sunday for an 8 p.m. makeup against the Silverbacks.
The local club starts tonight with 21 points in 11 NPSL Southeast matches for a 1.91-per-match average, slightly behind New Orleans (23 points in 12 matches, 1.92 average). CFC is coming off a 2-1 home win over Greenville FC to keep pace with the Jesters.
“Nothing is promised after Wednesday’s match,” CFC board chairman Tim Kelly said in a news release. “We’re known country-wide for our home-field advantage, and that’s thanks to the Chattahooligans and our fans. There’s no better way to celebrate the Fourth than at the Fort.”
The final three CFC matches come against teams in the top five of the league. Inter Nashville ranks fourth with a 1.42 average. The Revolution, who won 4-2 on June 23 in Chattanooga, are fifth with 1.39 points per match, while the Silverbacks are third, with 17 points in 11 matches (1.55).
“Our season comes down to these last three matches,” CFC general manager Sean McDaniel said. “The conference is so tight that this time next week we could be sitting in first or sixth. It’s been an exciting season, and I have no doubt this next week will follow suit.”
