Easter egg hunt at Coolidge

Children make a mad dash for the eggs strewn on the grass in Coolidge Park on Sunday during the Stuart Heights Baptist Church Easter egg hunt.

The Stuart Heights Baptist Church held their second annual Easter egg hunt on Sunday at Coolidge Park.

Executive pastor Darrell Davenport said that the church had stuffed 54,000 plastic eggs with candy and small toys, and included a handful of “prize eggs” which could be redeemed for items like an iPod shuffle and a bicycle.

Davenport said he expected a crowd of around 3000 to show up for the event, which took three hours to prepare.
