Dear Abby: Brother chooses to cut off contact after mother’s death
DEAR ABBY: My brother, who I will call "Alan," has cut me off. We each received 50% of our mother's estate, as specified by her will.

DEAR ABBY: My girlfriend and I have been together for a year and a half. When we first met, when I told her my feelings toward her, she responded that she was in an open relationship, so I backed away.

DEAR ABBY: With no discussion, my husband decided to retire two years ago. He said he would just take Social Security and we'd be fine.

DEAR ABBY: My husband and I have been married for two years. We rushed into marriage, unfortunately, before getting to know each other very well.

DEAR ABBY: My husband and I moved near the ocean last year. I have two sons, 21 and 17.

DEAR ABBY: I am the father of four, two boys and two girls, ranging in age from late teens to mid-20s. I was extremely close with all of them until my divorce seven years ago. Most would say they were closer to me than to their mom.

DEAR ABBY: Three months ago, my husband of 30 years came home from work, told me he wasn't happy anymore and said he wanted a divorce. Six days later, I found out he'd moved in with a woman he'd been seeing.

DEAR ABBY: I am a 40-plus-year-old single male. I recently started hanging out with one of my friend "Tom's" ex-girlfriends.

DEAR READERS: Welcome to 2024. Today, I share Dear Abby's list of New Year's Resolutions adapted by my late mother, Pauline Phillips, from the original credo of Al-Anon:

DEAR ABBY: I have been married three years. The man I married is not the person I fell in love with.
