If the terms "hoppy" and "fruit-forward" send your brain spinning when attempting to decipher a craft beer menu, don't fret. Boiled down to the basics, these curated brews have four main components: yeast, hops, malt and water. When implemented in the brewing process, hops, the flowers of the Humulus lupulus plant, allow for a variety of flavors. For example, Citra hops add a citrus flavor, while Simcoe hops evoke an earthier fruit taste. Whether you're looking for a dark beer to quench your thirst or a beer that tastes more like fruit punch, the beer world in Chattanooga has it all and then some.

What's better than relaxing with friends over a pint or a frozen daiquiri? Hanging out with friends with a beer in one hand and a trivia score sheet in the other. Nothing ups the hangout ante like adding in a little friendly competition as you ponder the length of the gestational period of a cow, how old Kristen Chenoweth is or what the dog's name was in "Peter Pan."
