Eight-year-old Isabella Parks admits she’s a bit of a dancing queen.
“I wake up at 6 a.m. dancing,” said the second grader who attends junior ballet dance class at the VanCura Ballet Conservatory.
While Isabella is already learning the vocabulary of ballet, other students at the studio in the John A. Patten Recreation Center are just mastering the basics of creative movement.
Creative Movement classes build strength and coordination and provide exercise for some of the youngest students in the conservatory, according to artistic director Anna Baker-VanCura.
