Police say a man was robbed of all his cash Wednesday night as he entertained a friend who apparently ditched him during the robbery.
Darrell Williams was entertaining a female acquaintance at his East 48th Street apartment when a black male entered brandishing a gun, according to Chattanooga police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary. The suspect demanded money from Mr. Williams and took his wallet, Sgt. Weary said.
After he’d gotten the money, the suspect and acquaintance fled the scene, both in unknown directions, police said. Mr. Williams was unharmed in the robbery and police are investigating the incident.
The gunman was described as a dark-skinned black male with dreadlocks wearing a plaid shirt over a red T-shirt and a mask over his face, Sgt. Weary said.
The female acquaintance was described as dark-skinned with a slim build, wearing blue shorts, she said.
