Four special promotions are included in the Chattanooga Lookouts’ season-opening series that continues through Monday at AT&T Field. The Lookouts have four games remaining in their home stand against the Huntsville Stars.
Promotions start with fireworks following tonight’s game and entertainment by the Zooperstars on Saturday. The Zooperstars are a menagerie of characters based on sports stars, such as Shark McGwire and Mackeral Jordan. Zooperstars will be back on Aug. 27.
First Things First is sponsoring Baseball Sunday, a chance for families to move a backyard bonding opportunity to AT&T Field.
“Gates open at 12:30 p.m., and you are invited to arrive early and play catch with your kids,” according to www.firstthings.org. Access to the field will be between 1:15 and 1:45 p.m. Don’t forget the baseball gloves. Baseball Sunday will repeat May 2 and 23, June 6 and 27, July 25 and Aug. 15.
Also Sunday, McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center will gather four-legged fans for Dogs on the Diamond. Dogs and their owners will get special seating in the picnic area along the third-base line and can take part in a Pooch Parade 30 minutes before each game. Those who e-mail pictures of their dogs to pintza@lookouts.com will see the photo displayed on the big-screen scoreboard during the game.
