BORDERLANDS: MAD MOXXI’S UNDERDOME RIOT

The first expansion for “Borderlands,” “The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned,” added a large new area, numerous quests and new enemies to fight. The second, “Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot,” is disappointingly less ambitious.
The titular Underdome is a hub that leads to three combat arenas where players can fight waves and waves and more waves of enemies in various configurations, with prizes at the end of each round. Finish the initial set of five rounds per arena, and longer tournaments are unlocked.
That’s pretty much it. And while the shooting action in “Borderlands” is solid enough, the real draw is the copious loot. But enemies don’t drop their equipment in the Underdome, which leaves just the fighting to amuse a player.
