Ten years ago, Girl Scout Troop 317 marked the millennial milestone by burying time capsules in the backyard of troop leader Gina Whitener. The 13 Scouts, then second-graders, had been together since the troop formed during their kindergarten year at Ooltewah Elementary School. Ten of them were at the Whitener residence in Ooltewah on April 3 for the time capsule excavation.
