CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Planners want to know what the people who live here see when they look into the future.
“We are expecting quite a bit of population and employment growth,” said Cleveland Community Development Director Greg Thomas. “We want to look at services and infrastructure and make sure we meet the demands of growth.”
As part of a long-range planning process, there will be a public forum on April 22 at the Cleveland Public Library.

A consulting firm has spent weeks surveying the status of Cleveland, Charleston and Bradley County, including holding one meeting with local leaders. A citizens advisory group also was appointed by local governments.
The cities and county, plus utility companies and others, are part of a Strategic Plan Task Force to analyze current conditions, draft goals and make recommendations.
This first Plan Forum will include presentations about the planning and give the public an opportunity to make suggestions through small discussion groups, Mr. Thomas said.
He said people attending the forum can be placed on a mailing list for future events.
The local task force plus the consultant firm, McBride, Dale and Clarion, aim to develop recommendations for the next five to 10 years and look ahead to 2035, said Corey Divel, with the Bradley County Planning Office.
