Scenic City Volks Folks staging the 12th annual Bug-a-Paluza this weekend may need to change the event’s name to the Bug-a-Giganta.
The Volkswagen gathering at Camp Jordan in East Ridge today through Sunday is maxed out at 350 entries and has a record number of more than 100 vendors, said club president Mike Pleasant.
“We’re about two and a half times bigger than last year’s footprint,” he said.
The growing presence in Chattanooga of Volkswagen’s only U.S. manufacturing plant has expanded interest, Pleasant said. Already the largest VW show in the tri-state and perhaps the Southeast, it’s likely to get bigger next year, he said.
“We’ve become the premier show in this part of the country.” he said.
