Interstate 24 has been cleared and all the eastbound lanes reopened after an early morning crash that involved several vehicles, police said.
No one was seriously hurt in the accident, which occurred about 9:30 a.m. between the Rossville Boulevard and Central Avenue exits, said police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Royval. The interstate was reopened by 12:45 p.m., she said.
An 18-wheeler traveling east on I-24 struck some type of debris in the roadway, which flew up and punctured the truck’s gas task, spilling fuel onto the road, Officer Royval said. As a result of the spill, about 10 cars were involved in a crash on I-24, she said, and one person was transported to the hospital with a minor shoulder injury.
