LaFAYETTE, Ga. – Authorities have identified a 15-year-old girl who was found dead Wednesday as Amber Nicole White, of LaFayette.
The girl was found dead in a blanket on a relative’s couch around noon Wednesday, according to police. There were no visible signs of trauma.
Lt. Robby Tate said the preliminary cause of death is an accidental drug overdose, but that toxicology reports will take a month or more.
He said the girl’s body had been taken to the crime lab in Atlanta for testing, he said.
Lt. Tate said there were people in the house who had assumed the girl was sleeping and left the house in the morning before the girl’s death was discovered.
