Wes Moore will be introduced as East Carolina’s new women’s basketball coach at a 4 p.m. news conference in Greenville, N.C., on Tuesday, ECU assistant director for media relations Charles Welch said.
Moore is leaving the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga after 12 seasons. After much deliberation, Moore accepted the East Carolina job offer on Sunday.
“I feel really fortunate that he had made such a commitment to UTC and stayed here as long as he did,” UTC Chancellor Roger Brown said.
The hire must still be approved by the ECU Board of Trustees, which is expected to do so during a conference call this afternoon. Moore informed his players, as well UTC’s five incoming freshmen, of his decision, late Sunday night.
