The Professional Actor Training Program at Chattanooga State Community College will present “Three Days of Rain” by Richard Greenberg in three performances this weekend. It wraps up a trio of productions presented by this year’s graduating class.
A Pulitzer Prize nominee for drama, the play is about Walker (Justin Wahlne), his sister Nan (Cameron Goss) and their childhood friend Pip (Cody Keown). The three get together in a loft in lower Manhattan to divide the holdings of their late fathers, who were partners in an architecture firm. To bring closure to their lives, they search for clues to explain what had gone on between their fathers decades before.
The second act reveals what transpired, as time shifts back to 1960 during “three days of rain.” The same three actors play members of the previous generation — Walker’s mother, Lina, and the two fathers, Ned and Theo.
The play is directed by Jeffrey Parker.
It will be presented at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Humanities Theatre at Chattanooga State, 4501 Amnicola Highway. Because of its adult themes and language, the play is not suitable for children.
