Kyle Bischoff took advantage of the last day of early voting Thursday because it was convenient and helps him beat the lines on election day.

It also helps because, thanks to his regular participation in early voting and because he’s only lived in the area two years, he’s not quite sure where his polling place is.

To make it easy, he simply went to the main office of the Hamilton County Election Commission.

Hamilton County Elections Commission Chief Deputy Charlotte Mullis-Morgan said early voting turnout will likely be on par with numbers from 2006.

“We beat it just a little bit,” she said. “But not much.”

In 2006 elections, about 5,500 people voted early, according to Times Free Press archives.

As of Thursday, election office employees had not had the chance to compare this year’s early voting numbers to prior years, Ms. Mullis-Morgan said.

But early voting participation has increased steadily since it became an option in the 1990s, she has said.
