Of the nine Hamilton County Commission seats on the ballot Thursday, only three were contested. Those three seats were won by newcomers Republican Jim Fields in District 2, Republican Joe Graham in District 6 and Republican Tim Boyd in District 8.
Also new on the commission will be District 9 Republican Chester Bankston, who faced no opponent.
Returning for another term on the commission are Republican Fred Skillern in District 1, Republican Jim Coppinger in District 3, Democrat Warren Mackey in District 4, Democrat Greg Beck in District 5 and Republican Larry Henry in District 7.
We believe the new and returning commissioners will serve well.
