Report of election numbers misleads
In an editorial comment on Aug. 6, it appears your Free Press editorial staff let their zeal to propagate disfavor for ObamaCare overtake their commitment to accurate reporting.
Your editorialist’s assertion that “… more than 70 percent of Missourians voted for Proposition C – and against destructive federal dictation of health care policy” is misleading. In fact, according to information available from the Missouri secretary of state, only about 23 percent of Missouri’s eligible voters cast a ballot on Aug. 3. No matter how unhappy ObamaCare makes you, it doesn’t make 23 percent of Missouri’s voters equate to 70 percent of Missourians.
