Six people arrested in one of Chickamauga, Ga.’s largest undercover drug investigations have been released from jail after posting bond.
The couple charged with heading a prescription drug operation from their tanning salon are still in jail and are scheduled to have a bond hearing in the next 30 days, police say.
Jamaica Me Tan salon owners Charles and Tina Hill were arrested Friday. Each is charged with three counts of sale and distribution of drugs and one count of possession of drugs.
Four men accused of being part of the operation – Zachary Edwards, Sean Glover, Michael Hooper and John Bradshaw – were charged with distributing drugs. They posted bond and were released over the past few days, said Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson.
James Frady and Jack May, who were accused of running a separate drug operation at May’s house, also were arrested. They were charged with drug distribution and posted bond, Wilson said.
Police say hydrocodone, Xanax and Oxycontin were the main drugs sold to teenagers at the tanning salon on Thomas Avenue in downtown Chickamauga. Police also believe drugs were being sold at Holland-Watson Veterans Memorial Park.
The Hills’ initial bond hearing was moved from Magistrate Court to Walker County Superior Court because of the severity of the charges, he said. A date will be set later.
A juvenile is still being investigated in connection with the bust but has not been arrested, said Chickamauga Police Chief Micheal Haney.
