Allemande Hall will host the second of three Sunday Special square dances on Sunday.

Featured caller will be Lottie Ainsworth from Eros, La. Sandy and Lynn Heer will be the round-dance cuers.

According to publicity director Malcolm “Mac” Thompson, Ainsworth began square-dancing in 1995 with her husband, Ray, and both quickly became enthusiastic members of the square-dancing community.

“Lottie has a beautiful singing voice and a flair for entertaining,” Thompson said. “She decided to put these together and become a caller.”

After attending caller colleges, she started her caller activities in 2001. Out-of-town engagements soon followed. She has accepted gigs in 27 states and has by invitation called at nine national square-dance conventions. She is one of six vocalists featured on a fundraising recording, “When the Saints Go Marching In,” produced by Grand Square Inc., for victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

“She has called an Allemande Hall Sunday Special for a number of years and is very popular with Chattanooga area dancers,” Thompson said.

The Heers, he said, were popular cuers and teachers in the area for many years and recently relocated.

“The Chattanooga dancers will be pleased to have them back for this special dance,” Thompson said.
