Two weeks from today, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team will open its season at Finley Stadium against Appalachian State.
The Mocs will be at Finley both today and Sunday preparing for the Mountaineers, winners of five straight Southern Conference championships.
This afternoon, starting around 3 – the same time as the kickoff on Sept. 3 – the Mocs will conduct their second scrimmage of the preseason. Coach Russ Huesman said the team will go through its pregame routine, the coaches will wear headsets and everything “will be as gamelike as possible.”
Sunday, UTC will participate in the “Meet the Mocs” fan day following the 2 p.m. women’s soccer game against Tennessee Tech. All UTC fall sports will participate in the event.
The 2009 fan day was just for football and drew more than 1,000 Mocs supporters.
