Things to watch in Mocs’ scrimmage

Offense

1. Who’s running the ball?

The Mocs’ four running backs – Erroll Wynn, Chris Awuah, J.J. Jackson and Keon Williams – all have had very good preseasons. Nobody has pulled away to the top of the depth chart thus far, but coach Russ Huesman said he would like to come away from today’s scrimmage with some type of depth chart. Williams suffered a sprained ankle this week and will not play.

2. The ‘X’ men

Offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield said Chris Pitchford, Marlon Anthony and Jarrett Burns are competing for the top two spots at split end, or “X” receiver. “Each day they’ve made some plays and each day they’ve dropped some balls and didn’t make plays,” Satterfield said. “We’re going to put them in a position where the ball’s going to them and we’ll see what they can do.”
