With numerous starters resting on the bench and a one-hour lightning delay in the middle, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s second preseason scrimmage at Finley Stadium was short on excitement Saturday.
Despite the lack of rhythm and polish at times, the Mocs “got done what we needed to,” coach Russ Huesman said.
Freshman cornerback Chaz Moore was one of the standouts. He played considerably with the first-team defense and delivered one of the bigger hits.
The 5-foot-10, 160-pound Moore drilled receiver Jeff Veres on a screen pass, drawing a big roar from his teammates.
