GATLINBURG, Tenn. – A rock slide has closed U.S. 441 through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
WVLT-TV in Knoxville quoted park spokesman Bob Miller, who said the slide affects both lanes of the highway – also known as Newfound Gap Road – about six miles north of Cherokee, N.C.
The rocks slid onto the highway on Sunday evening.
