Meth labs found in home with three elderly DeKalb, Ala., residents

DeKalb County, Ala., authorities Thursday found three “one-pot-cook” methamphetamine labs in the same home with three elderly people, a sheriff’s department release states.

A deputy went to a home on County Road 129 Thursday night after receiving “several complaints” about drug activity, DeKalb Sheriff’s Department officials state.

The officer found chemicals and other items used to make methamphetamine and arrested Joshua Eugene Kean, 27, and Dana Jaunee Watkins, 21, both of Fort Payne. They were charged with manufacturing and unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kean was also charged with three counts of reckless endangerment in connection with the three seniors in the home.

Authorities said Friday that Watkins and Kean were being held without bond.
