In rough-and-tumble politics, there are many times when politicians figuratively take a blow or two and have to maintain a “stiff upper lip” when things go against them.
But now, President Barack Obama has a “real” sore lower lip.
Playing a little basketball, he inadvertently was hit on the lip by an opponent’s errant elbow. The resulting cut required a dozen stitches.
We’re sorry the president had such a mishap – but we are glad he’s vigorous and healthy enough to engage in a little friendly, competitive basketball.
