A slight flicker in power this afternoon to all EPB customers was caused by an equipment malfunction at the Chickamauga Dam, said EPB spokeswoman Lacie Newton.
The incident happened about 3:50 p.m., she said.
Newton said piece of equipment that malfunctioned is a “bushing,” which is intended to insulate and protect conductors.
“It’s on a line that’s interconnected throughout our whole customer service area, so that flicker you saw, that happened because this went down,” she said.
No outages were caused by the incident and TVA was working this afternoon to replace the bushing, Newton said.
