CLEVELAND, Tenn. — About a month before school ends next spring, Bradley Central High School will have a new fine arts building.
Inside will be a 600-seat auditorium facing a new stage equipped with modern lighting and sound systems. It will be surrounded by classrooms and have a band room with storage and a choral room.
Johnny McDaniel, director of Bradley County Schools, said the new space has opened up areas in other parts of the school, including room for the high school’s Junior ROTC program.
About two-thirds of the $3.3 million for the project came from money the Bradley County school board set aside in past capital budgets. The rest came from a half-cent local sales tax increase voters approved two years ago.
Architect Angie Lyon of Kaatz, Binkley, Jones and Morris told school board members Thursday that the building’s exterior is almost complete.
