Chattanooga: Three applications received for Hamilton County mayor job

The Hamilton County Commission had received applications from three men interested in the vacant position of county mayor as of late this morning, records show.

They are Guy M. Satterfield, a retired transportation inspector for the city of Chattanooga; Mike Carter, special assistant to outgoing Hamilton County Mayor Claude Ramsey; and Edward Ector, who works in the county’s support services division.

Commissioners Jim Coppinger and Larry Henry have expressed interest in the job but had not formally applied as of this morning.

The commission plans to select Ramsey’s replacement on Dec. 27. The deadline for applications to be submitted at the commission office at the county courthouse is 4 p.m. on Dec. 17.

Ramsey is stepping down Jan. 11 to become deputy governor and chief of staff for Tennessee Gov.-elect Bill Haslam.
