Warm and dry like a similar scene in Bethlehem more than 2,000 years ago, Sequoyah Caverns will host Mary, Joseph, wise men, angels, kings and even animals for its eighth annual live Nativity event Tuesday through Christmas Eve in Valley Head, Ala.

“Winter of Glory,” a dramatization of the first Christmas, will be held in the caverns’ “Ballroom” in year-round, 60-degree comfort.

“I’ve seen it where it’s anywhere from the 60s to the teens [outside] in the environment,” said Roy Jones, one of the owners of the caverns. “But it’s always 60 degrees inside.”

The free event, which will be offered three times nightly, will feature a dramatization of the birth narrative with Christmas songs related to the holiday performed by a group of members from seven or eight churches from Catholic to Baptist.
