Once all the toys Santa brings tonight have been tested, it won’t take long before the plaintive cries of “Mom, I’m bored” start anew next week.
The Tennessee Aquarium has the solution for family fun: a week of indoor and outdoor activities that’s educational as well.
Sunday through Jan. 2, the Aquarium is booking Critter Cruises aboard the River Gorge Explorer.
Each two-hour cruise departs at 12:30 p.m. from the Explorer’s dock at Ross’s Landing. Visitors will be met at the dock by Aquarium mascot Ottessa Otter. Parents should bring their cameras for this photo-op.
Each cruise can accommodate 68 guests in addition to a naturalist, who will point out wildlife and historic points of interest along the shore, and an Aquarium educator, who will bring along a live box turtle for an interactive turtle tale.
