Former Grace Baptist Academy student indicted for fatal Chattanooga car wreck that killed friend

A Hamilton County grand jury has indicted a former Grace Baptist Academy student for a fatal car wreck that killed his close friend a year and a half ago.

Trevor Addison Burke, 19, faces charges of vehicular homicide and reckless endangerment in the death of Ryan Gill.

Burke was booked into Hamilton County Jail on Wednesday and will be arraigned in Hamilton County Criminal Court today.

The single-vehicle crash that killed Gill, also a student at Grace Baptist Academy, occurred in May 2009 on Ooltewah-Ringgold Road. Police said Burke, who was driving and 17 at the time, rounded a curve, crossed into the northbound lane, left the road and struck a wooden fence and guardrail.

After the crash, hundreds of people came to Erlanger hospital to support the families of the two students involved, according to news reports.
