NASHVILLE, Tenn. – An approaching storm front has triggered a tornado watch for some West Tennessee counties. The National Weather Service has placed counties close to the Mississippi
River under the watch, which is effective until 7 p.m. CST Friday. Other severe weather statements could be issued later.
The affected counties in Tennessee are Dyer, Lake, Lauderdale and Obion. Forecasters say a strong cold front that set off tornadoes early Friday, killing three people in northwestern Arkansas, is moving eastward, chasing unusually warm weather.
Numerous showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy downpours of rain, are expected Friday night and Saturday morning.
