It was the perfect combination: outside accuracy and inside domination.
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team was red-hot from 3-point range Monday night against UNC Greensboro, which made life easy down low for Shanara Hollinquest and Michelle Davis.
The Lady Mocs matched their season high with 12 3-point baskets, and without facing the usual double- and triple-teams, Hollinquest scored 24 points in their 82-63 Southern Conference win. Davis, meanwhile, was effective inside and out, making three 3s and scoring a career-high 21 points.
Six UTC players made 3s and the team finished 12-for-22 from long range and 27-for-54 from the field.
“It was a great night,” UTC coach Wes Moore said. “It’s fun to be on the sideline on a night like this.”
