Oak Ridge man charged after mother scared

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – Police in Oak Ridge have arrested a man accused of terrorizing his mother by driving into oncoming traffic until she gave him money.

The Oak Ridger reports 28-year-old Jordan Ray Honeycutt was charged with reckless endangerment, robbery, aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping.

Police said Honeycutt’s 52-year-old mother reported that he drove her around for more than an hour Friday night, refusing to let her out of the car and threatening to kill her.

Police said Honeycutt drove into the opposite lanes or made U-turns into oncoming traffic at least four times during the ordeal.

It ended when the victim agreed to withdraw $40 from an ATM, police said.

Honeycutt was held in the Anderson County Jail on Tuesday. It wasn’t clear whether he had an attorney.
