A Hamilton County student suffered head injuries after a former student shoved him off the bleachers during a wrestling match Monday night at Central High School, according to Janice Atkinson, spokeswoman for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
Demarrione Williams, 18, was charged with simple and aggravated assault, Ms. Atkinson said.
According to Ms. Atkinson, Central did not station school resource officers at the wrestling match, but Hamilton County sheriff’s deputies responded.
The injured student was taken to an area hospital after the suspect was apprehended, Ms. Atkinson said.
