What about campaign $$?

We have noted that political campaigns unfortunately require a lot of money. Where should the money come from — and not come from?

Some candidates, but not most, are able to finance themselves. The financing should come from interested individual citizens who favor certain candidates and certain principles that candidates stand for and propose to promote if elected.

What we should not want in politics are huge sums of money from corporations, labor unions or any other organizations that may be able to concentrate enough money to improperly “buy” election decisions.

Only individual citizens can vote. It is idealistic, but only individual citizens also should provide campaign funds — with public reporting.

We want the best candidates we can find — not the ones that big money can buy.
