FRANKLIN, Tenn. — It was a long weekend but not a lost weekend for Baylor.
The Red Raiders finished third in the Division II state wrestling duals — a disappointment for them — but they ended their trip with another victory over McCallie, 41-23.
“I’m glad this weekend is over,” Baylor coach Jim Morgan said. “We came in as defending champions, and it’s disappointing that our defense wasn’t successful. But any time Baylor and McCallie compete, it’s special.”
The Red Raiders had edged McCallie 38-36 last Monday.
“It was a stressful, exhausting weekend with some great competition,” McCallie coach Mike Newman said. “I think all of the coaches are tired and all of the kids are tired. We’ll get refocused over the next two weeks.”
